Supplemental Terms & Conditions
Great American River Journeys (GARJ) wants to make your trip as worry-free
as possible with our Passage Contract and the following Supplemental
Terms and Conditions. The Passage Contract, these Supplemental Terms
& Conditions and your Itinerary constitute the agreement between
GARJ and each Passenger.All of these documents are available on
request in advance from GARJ, or on our Website, and will be provided
to you prior to your departure.

DEPOSITS
A deposit of $350 per person per Cruise is due within 7 days from
the date of booking. An additional deposit may be required when
booking a pre- or post-cruise hotel or land tour. Your reservation
is considered confirmed once we receive your payment. If you chose
to purchase the GARJ Ease of Travel Protection Plan, the premium
payment is also due with your initial deposit payment. For reservations
made less than 45-days prior to departure, full payment is due at
the time of booking. Acceptable forms of payment include Visa, Master
Card, American Express and Discover, as well as personal or travel
agency checks. Book early for the best cabin selection and choice
of travel dates, flights, and itineraries.
FINAL PAYMENT
Full payment is due in our office 45 days prior to departure date.We
reserve the right to release your space and impose the appropriate
cancellation fee if full payment is not received by that date. Re-booking
will be subject to availability at that time.
LATE BOOKING
We welcome last minute bookings and will do everything we can to
accommodate your request. Immediate full payment is required for
bookings made less than 45 days prior to your departure date. There
is a $35 late booking fee per address on the reservation to cover
administrative costs and express processing of travel documents.
PRICES INCLUDE
Cruise fare includes all normal shipboard services and facilities,
shore excursions and appropriate meals ashore, group transfers,
baggage handling between airports, ship and hotel, and hotel accommodations
as noted in GARJ’s published Itinerary.
PRICES DO NOT INCLUDE
Port charges, taxes and fees, insurance, optional excursions, gratuities
to ship and shore personnel, alcoholic beverages, items of a personal
nature, transfers and air transportation unless otherwise specified
per your Itinerary.
CURRENCY
All rates are quoted and payable in United States dollars. Rates
quoted are based on our current rate schedules at the time of printing
and are subject to change or withdrawal without notice. All paid
in full reservations are guaranteed and protected from rate changes.
CHANGES
Once your reservation is confirmed with a deposit, any changes to
departure dates or confirmed Passengers will result in a $50 change
fee. Airline reservations and separate travel arrangements made
through your travel agent may be subject to additional fees. An
additional $35 fee will be charged if these changes or additions
require that we reissue your travel documents.
CANCELLATIONS
We recommend the purchase of a travel insurance plan. Compare the
benefits of insurance protection against the cancellation fees.
The following per person cancellation fees apply based on the number
of days until departure date and amounts paid to GARJ:
91 or more days: No Cancellation Fee
90 to 46 days: Forfeit of Deposit
45 to 31 days: 50% of the Fare
30 days or less or non-appearance at departure: 100% of the Fare

Airfare and other travel services not operated by GARJ may be non-refundable
or carry additional penalties.Your travel representative may also
impose additional cancellation fees. Unfortunately,we cannot apply
cancellation fees to future bookings and these fees will be assessed
whether or not we are able to resell your space. GARJ reserves the
right to cancel a departure or alter any or all parts of an Itinerary,
tour, cruise or accommodation at any time as conditions or minimum
group sizes require. We will refund the actual amounts received
by GARJ if we cancel an Itinerary at our sole discretion. If we
can’t provide you with your confirmed Itinerary for any reason,we
will try to arrange a comparable substitute Itinerary. Please refer
to the Passage Contract for more details.
REFUND REQUESTS
Refund requests must be submitted within 60 days of your date of
travel. There are two types of cancellations:
- Due to circumstances within our control. Examples may include
mechanical failure of our equipment or other necessary cancellation
of a cruise. All refunds are considered to be requests and final
approval and judgment are up to the sole discretion of GARJ. All
refunds are issued from the Seattle office;we are never able to
issue refunds on the spot. If you booked through a travel representative,
refunds are made through your representative, and are based on
amounts paid and actually received by GARJ from that representative;
if booked directly with GARJ, there will be a full refund.
- Due to circumstances outside of our control. This is commonly
known as force majeure. It refers to unforeseen circumstances
beyond our control that limit our ability to provide you with
contracted services.This includes things such as unsafe wind,
weather and/or sea conditions or natural disasters, quarantined
vessels, war, and failure of third parties such as suppliers,
air carriers and subcontractors to perform their obligations.
No refunds are issued for circumstances outside of our control.
No refunds are made for unused or missed tours, transfers, vouchers
or accommodations when you or someone acting on your behalf such
as a Travel Agent cancel or omit them, nor due to delays or missed
transfers on airlines or third-party transportation services.
EXTRA EXPENSES
Adverse weather or other unforeseen and uncontrollable events may
affect scheduled flights and/or overland transportation. If you
are required to spend additional nights at any tour destination,
you are responsible for your accommodations, meals and any additional
incurred costs such as taxis, phone calls, etc. You are also responsible
for additional overnights and potential airfare charges due to airline
schedule changes before and/or after the Cruise. GARJ will not pay
for these additional expenses.
TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
Your trip information and all documentation will be sent to you
about 30 days before you depart. For last minute bookings, documents
will be sent to you upon receipt of final payment. Travel documents
include the Passage Contract, these Supplemental Terms & Conditions,
your Itinerary, vouchers, airline and transportation tickets (if
applicable), luggage tags and a packing list.
HEALTH AND SECURITY
The Passenger represents that he or she is physically and otherwise
fit to travel; that he or she will at all times comply with the
vessel’s rules and regulations.
GUESTS WITH DISABILITIES
The vessel includes one ADA approved stateroom as well as a passenger
elevator reaching all decks. Disabled guests are welcome aboard
the vessel and are given every attention by our crew; however it
is recommended that disabled guests travel with someone who can
be sure to assist them with any needs. It is essential that you
notify us of any special medical or physical needs or other requirements
at the time you book your trip.
PREGNANCY
To protect both of you,we cannot accept bookings for women who will
be 30 weeks pregnant or more on the final date of travel. In addition,
expectant mothers in their third trimester (more than 24, but less
than 30 weeks) must submit a letter from their physician advising
that it is safe for them to travel by ship and/or air.
BAGGAGE
GARJ recommends that passengers purchase a travel insurance policy
covering baggage and contents as well as accidents. Baggage is limited
to two (2) per person and should conform to airline restrictions.
PHOTOGRAPHS, VIDEO, ETC.
We often photograph, film, and/or record passengers and activities
during the course of a cruise. Copies of such photographs, etc.
may be available for a modest charge. As our passenger GARJ is hereby
authorized to take and to use such photographs, etc. for marketing
and training purposes without being obligated to compensate passenger.
